| The Pantheistic Interpretation of Flora and Fauna Images in William Blake's Poems |

| Abstract:While accepting the inevitable transition from polytheism to monotheism, William Blake advocated its subversive return, and found in this escape the clues to construct his poetic images. His poems built with poetic ambiguity a complex multiple-meanings system featuring the deconstruction of the traditional master-slave relationship between images to emphasize the variety of Devine characters. As a result, the animal and plant images in his poetry could be interpreted according to his unique pantheistic doctrine, suggesting a prophecy and foreseeing nature which has a profound impact for poetic modernism. |
