| An Echo of Ancient Chinese Conceptions of Truth: Emily Dickinson’s Views of Truth |

| Abstract:Emily Dickinson believed that truth is the primal existence that is vast as well as eternal; language is expressive, ye cannot express truth; truth displays itself not by language but in silence; silence is the best way to conceive and communicate with truth. Emily Dickinson’s views of truth are similar to ancient Chinese conceptions of truth. Emily Dickinson’s life-long effort to strive to tell indirectly the truth by means of language is an illustration of her unbending conviction and determination in her advocating and pursuing of truth. |
