| Abstract:In his revision to An Analytical Dictionary of Chinese Characters (Shuo Wen Jie Zi),，the master in literature of Qing Dynasty， Duan Yucai， comprehensively used the knowledge on linguistics； the revision of An Analytical Dictionary of Chinese Characters involves its contents of three aspects， namely，pattern system， pronunciation system and meaning system. The pattern system includes regular pattern and variant pattern， character originated from loan character and original character， loan character and variant character etc；the pronunciation system includes sound source，identical or similar sound， and sounds sharing the same vowel； meaning system includes the relation of collective meaning and specific meaning，two characters sharing the same meaning， and aggregation of meanings |
