| Hunting Plots in the Victorian Adventure Fiction |

| Abstract:The overwhelming overseas hunting plots in the Victorian adventure fictions echo the real facts of colonial animal killing in the 19th century. To stimulate excitement and happiness in reading, Victorian adventure fictions adopt specific narrative techniques such as “repetition”, “listing” and “plain style” in the writing of overseas animal hunting so as to construct the image of “Great White Hunter”. Thus it is of importance to investigate how the hunting plots of Victorian adventure fictions constructed and enhanced the British empirical ideology. |
