| Abstract:Arthur Waley is one of the greatest British sinologists and translators in the first half of 20th century. His Jewish identity—the “other” in English community and his insight as the “other”, the highly disciplined training of Rugby and Cambridge, and his working experiences in the British Museum contribute to making him an ideal transmitter and interpreter of classical Chinese literature. |
