Zhu Xi's Classics Interpretation of the Integration between the Ritual and the Principle: Taking“the Investigate Things to Extend Knowledge”in Commentary on the Great Learning for Example
Abstract:Zhu Xi's Commentary on the Great Learning was a unique text of interpretation and represented the a classics interpretation model in the integration of the ritual and the principle. Zhu Xi's interpretation of "the investigate things to extend knowledge", which was injected the principle, made a philosophical breakthrough from the ritual to the principle; emphasized the basis of the investigation of things was the practice of elementary school, investigated the possibility of communication between the ritual and the principle from the perspective of history; at the same time attached great importance to self-cultivation with seriousness and emphasized the practice in the integration of the ritual and the principle.
