中文摘要:历史上《论语》注本甚多,究竟孰优孰劣,已难以缕述。王肃注“子不语怪力乱神”,见于《论语》的最早注本——何晏《论语集解》。王肃认为,“怪力乱神”系四件事情。“怪”是“怪异”,“乱”是“臣弑君,子弑父”,“神”是“鬼神之事”,这是大体正确的。然而,他将“力”解释为“若奡荡舟、乌获举千斤之属”则有待商榷,从当时的思想背景来看,应该将“力”理解为“武力和暴力”。

An Analysis of the Sentence “Confucius Dismissed the Discussion of Odd, Puissance, Turmoil and Deity” Interpreted by Wang Su
Abstract:In the history of interpretation on The Analects of Confucius, the commentary books are just too numerous to judge the superiority. Wang Su's interpretation on the sentence “Confucius dismissed the discussion of odd, puissance, turmoil and deity” first appeared in He Yan's Lunyu Jijie, which is the first commentary book of The Analects of Confucius. In his opinion, odd, puissance, turmoil and deity are exactly four things. On the whole, it is correct that Wang Su interpreted “odd”as strange things,“turmoil” as a vassal killing his king or a son killing his father, and interpreted “deity” as something supernatural. However, it is quite questionable that Wang Su related “puissance” with the power of Ao and Wuhuo. Based on the ideology background of Chunqiu Period, it is rational that “puissance” refers to military force and brutal power.
