中文摘要:实验考察了L2水平对中国学习者英语词重音产出的影响,对比了两组不同英语水平的中国学习者与美国英语本族语者产出英语词重音的声学表现。结果表明:1)与英语本族语者比,高水平组音高与之相似,但音强和时长差异显著;而低水平组在三个声学参数上都与英语本族语者差异显著;2)低水平组和高水平组在音高和音强上差异显著,但时长不显著。这说明语言水平影响英语词重音产出,然而,随着L2水平的增加,L1的影响降低。研究结果支持了语言迁移假说。

Effects of L2 Proficiency on Chinese EFL Learners Production of English Lexical Stress
Abstract:This paper reports the effects of Chinese learners L2 proficiency on the production of English lexical stress.The acoustic characteristics of English lexical stress produced by the beginners and advanced Chinese ESL learners were compared with those of the native American English speakers.Results showed that 1) F0 of the English lexical stress produced by the advanced learners and the native English speakers was comparable,but the advanced learners produced stressed syllables with shorter duration and lower intensity than native English speakers.Whereas,the beginners produced significantly different F0,intensity and duration compared with native English speakers.2) There was a significant difference between the beginners and the advanced learners in terms of F0 and intensity,but the difference in duration was not significant.The findings reveal that L2 proficiency does impact the production of English lexical stress.However,the influence of L1 decreased with the increase of L2 proficiency level,lending support to language transfer theory.
