| 中文摘要:与五四激进的反传统潮流不同，林语堂以辩证理性的态度以及非二元对立的价值取向对儒家传统做出评判。反映在小说里，具体表现为林语堂对儒家处世传统与人伦传统的继承以及对儒家人性传统的反拨。实际上，作为自由主义者的林语堂与儒家传统始终处于一种富于张力的关系之中，他在继承与发展之间找到平衡点，也因此释放了五四时期被压抑的“多重现代性”而带来了不同的文学景观。 |

| On Confucian Tradition and Lin Yutang’s Novels |

| Abstract:Being different from the radical anti tradition in the May 4th Movement，Lin Yutang，with a dialectical and rational attitude as well as a value of non binary opposition，made a judgment on the Confucian tradition，which was reflected in his novel as a certain inheritance of Confucian life and ethical traditions，together with the refutation towards the traditional Confucian humanity.In fact，as a liberalist，Lin Yutang and Confucian traditions had always been in a relationship full of tension，and he managed to find a balance between the inheritance and the development，thus also released the repressed concept of "Multiple Modernity" since the May 4th Movement，who also brought diverse literary landscapes to China. |
