| Cities Make Life Better——On the Aesthetic Meaning of Lewis Mumford’s Theory of Cities |

| Abstract:Lewis Mumford’s theory of cities has such aesthetic significance that makes the research objects focus on the people’s living in the city，the problem faced by urban development and the relationship between the city and human characters including human nature，human life and human happiness.It regarded“Cities Make Life better”as the aim of urban construction，considered the cities as the great artistic creation and the organic being.Moreover，it paid attention to the urban ecological civilization construction.All of the above have been associated with the basic aesthetic meaning，which helped people to think deeply about urban aesthetic problems and form the aesthetic view of cities with spiritual depth and constructiveness. |
