中文摘要:忠,是中国传统政治思想的重要组成部分,是社会政治生活参与者的最高行为准则。在“忠”思想发展史上,荀子的理论贡献在于对先秦各派的“忠”思想进行了批判继承、综合改造,并以儒家思想为基本出发点,对“忠”做了新的界定,将其向着“忠君”的方向做出了理论上的诱导与压缩,使得原本内涵相当丰富的“忠”思想在荀子这里开始出现围绕“君”之事进行定向思考的倾向,从而促成了后世“忠君”文化的形成。尤其是荀子对法家思想的借鉴,使其“忠”思想超越了先秦儒家文化的理想主义色彩,获得了更强的现实政治意义。荀子的“忠”思想主体包含三个内容:忠信、忠顺、忠君,归结为一点就是引导人们去忠君。质言之,忠君为体,忠道为用,忠道是为了更好地忠君,是为荀子忠思想的最佳概括。

About Xunzi “loyalty” Thought
Abstract:“Loyalty”is an important part of traditional Chinese political thought. It is the highest code of conduct for participants in socio-political life. In the phylogeny of the thought“loyalty”,Master Xun’s theoretical contribution lies in the inheritance and comprehensive transformation for the“loyalty”thought of the pre-Qin factions, making a new definition of“loyalty”by taking Confucianism as the basic starting point,and theoretical induction and compression in its direction of “loyalty to the King“,constitutes it the thought of“loyalty” being originally rich in connotation.There appeared the trend of targeted thinking around the affairs of“King”under the influence of Master Xun,thus contributing to the formation of“loyalty to the King”culture in later generations. Especially, Master Xun's reference to the thought of legalism,which makes its thought of“loyalty”transcend the idealistic color of Confucian culture in the pre-Qin period,gained a stronger real political significance. The thought subject of Master Xun’s“loyalty”contains three elements:faithfulness,obedience,loyalty. It is to guide the masses to be loyal to the King while coming down to one point. Virtually speaking,it is ontology to be loyal to the King,its outward manifestation is to be loyal to the moral.“Loyal to the moral” is to be better loyal to the King. This is the best generalization of Master Xun's thought of“loyalty”.
