中文摘要:依据情状体假说,考察了语体(口语/书面语)、动词情状及英语水平对中国学习者英语进行体习得的影响。基于口语和书面语语料库,该文分析了两组不同水平的中国大学生英语进行体的使用情况。结果表明:两组水平的学习者在口语中使用英语进行体频率均高于书面语;动词情状体在进行体中的总体分布不受语体和学习者英语水平影响,支持情状体假说的第三点预测;状态动词用于进行体与学习者英语水平有关,不支持情状体假说第四点预测。

Acquisition of the English Progressive Aspect in Chinese Learners from the Perspective of the Aspect Hypothesis
Abstract:From the perspective of the Aspect Hypothesis, this paper investigated the effect of modality (spoken vs.written), lexical aspect of verbs and English proficiency levels on Chinese learners’ use of the English progressive aspect. Based on a spoken corpus and a written corpus, it analyzed the English progressive aspect produced by Chinese university students with two proficiency levels. The findings show that for learners with both proficiency levels, the frequency of using the English progressive aspect is higher in spoken corpus than that in written corpus; irrespective of mode of production and L2 language proficiency levels, Chinese learners’ use of the English progressive aspect is influenced by lexical aspect of verbs, which supports the third prediction of the Aspect Hypothesis. The use of stative verbs is related to learners’ proficiency level, which does not support the fourth prediction of the Aspect Hypothesis.
