中文摘要:“辩”是荀子正名思想的重要环节,具有沟通“名”与“事”的作用,然荀子之“辩”无意于构建逻辑体系,展现为“辩说”与“治辨”的统一,是以维护儒家伦理道德与政治理想为目的,具有非常强烈的针对性与现实精神。为了使“辩”更为有序有效,“仁”“礼”“义”等儒家价值规范就成为“辩”必须坚持的原则。荀子之“辩”还呈现为“君子必辩”与“小人勿辩”两个层面,在这种“辩”与“不辩”的两难抉择中,荀子希望通过“辩”诸子之学为“邪说”,儒家思想为正道,从而说服世人摒弃诸子遵从儒家规范,但政治权力作为决定因素的参与,又使荀子之“辩”蒙上独断论色彩。

Argument and Administration: On XunZi’s Thought of Bian
Abstract:Bian is an important link in XunZi’s thought of name rectification, which has the function of communicating name and matter. XunZi’s Bian is not to build a logical system, but to safeguard the Confucian ethics and political ideals. It has a very strong sense of relevance and realistic spirit, which shows the unity of argument and administration. In order to make argument more orderly and effective, Confucian value norms such as benevolence, propriety and righteousness have become the principles that argument must adhere to. XunZi’s Bian also presents two aspects: a gentleman must argue and a villain should not argue. In this dilemma between arguement and no-arguement, XunZi hopes to persuade the world to abandon the Confucian norms by arguing the learning of various scholars as heresy and Confucianism as the right way, and the participation of political power becomes the decisive factor, which makes XunZi’s Bian become dogmatic.
